For Primary Schools, Teachers & Librarians

Bring online safety into your classroom — from Year 2. A curriculum-aligned picture book, free classroom resources, and live author workshops. Everything your school needs to start the conversation early.

The Book — Who is Bob the Blob?

Most online safety education in primary schools begins in Year 5 or later. But 80% of Australian children aged 8–12 are already using social media, and exposure to online harm is widespread well before high school. The conversation needs to start earlier. Bob the Blob is written specifically for that window.

The book follows Bob — a quirky underwater creature who creates a fake online profile to make friends — and gently introduces children to online trust, personal information, digital strangers, and critical thinking. It is funny, age-appropriate, and deliberately designed to open a conversation rather than close one down with warnings and rules.

Key learning themes: Online trust and digital strangers · Personal information and privacy · Critical thinking — not everything online is real. Telling a trusted adult when something feels wrong · Digital resilience and emotional safety.

Author Visits & School Workshops

Bianca is available for in-person and online author visits and parent workshops at primary schools across Queensland and nationally. Sessions are practical, engaging and specifically designed for the primary school context — no jargon, no scare tactics, just clear and actionable guidance that families can implement the same evening.

Workshop 1 — Parent Evening: Online Safety for Families
(45–60 mins, in-person or online)

Designed for school P&C evenings and parent information nights. Bianca translates complex cyber threats into plain language using everyday analogies. Attendees leave with a clear, practical action plan for their household covering: the current digital landscape, age-appropriate conversations, practical rules to implement at home, online gaming and social platforms, and how to report an incident.

Workshop 2 — Author Visit: Bob the Blob in the Classroom
(45 mins, Years 2–4, in-person)

Bianca reads Bob the Blob aloud, then leads a guided discussion getting children thinking critically about online trust, digital strangers and what to do if something doesn’t feel right. Includes Q&A with students and a take-home resource for parents. Children leave with a clear framework for thinking about who they trust online, confidence to tell a trusted adult, and age-appropriate language for talking about online safety at home.

Workshop 3 — Combined Day: Classroom Visit + Parent Evening
(Full day, best value)

Bianca spends the day at your school — author visits across multiple year levels in the morning, followed by a parent workshop in the evening. A whole-school approach that ensures children and their families are hearing the same messages at the same time. The most effective format for lasting behavioural change.

To book a workshop or author visit, get in touch via the contact form below. Please include your school name, year levels, preferred workshop type and preferred dates. Bianca will be in touch within 2 business days.
